Founder Mindset.

A founder mindset workshop is a facilitated session that moves a team from managing activity to owning outcomes. It is built on three pillars — Extreme Ownership, Will to Win and Enterprise Mind — and every participant scores themselves against the Founder Mindset Self-Evaluation, a seven-dimension diagnostic. Future.Pro runs it in Singapore and across Asia for teams of five to 150, in formats from ninety minutes to a full day. Nobody leaves with a theory deck. They leave with a score, one focus area, and a commitment they have written down and said out loud.

01 Who it is for

  • Leadership and management teams in luxury retail, FMCG, financial services and the public sector — the rooms this has already run in.
  • Managers accountable for outcomes they do not fully control: pricing set elsewhere, headcount fixed, approvals owned by another function.
  • Organisations that have grown faster than their decision-making, where capable people wait to be told rather than deciding.
  • Teams returning for a second or third session — the material layers rather than repeats.

  1. It opens with three asks — be curious, share generously, have fun — and a story chain where each table builds a business one line at a time, first using only "yes, but", then only "yes, and". The difference in the room is immediate, and it is the point: your words matter, your approach matters, your behaviour matters.

  2. Then the distinction the rest of the day rests on. Groups sort a list of real workplace frustrations into gravity problems and actionable ones — a gravity problem being a constraint you cannot change, which as Bill Burnett and Dave Evans put it in Designing Your Life, you can only accept and design around. Market conditions, brand partner pricing and compliance timelines are gravity. How your team connects with a client is not. Most teams discover they have been spending their energy on the wrong column.

  3. The three pillars come next, each with its own language. Extreme Ownership is accountability, agency and action — you see a gap, you own it. Will to Win is conviction, purpose and obsession — the internal fire that separates leaders who influence from those who merely inform. Enterprise Mind is team, solutions and outcomes — you stop asking how this affects you and start asking how it affects the outcome. Against that sits a six-line contrast between how staff operate and how founders do: fixed to flow, metrics to meaning, command to connect, delegate to design.

  4. Everyone then completes the Founder Mindset Self-Evaluation and gets a number. Ownership and Proactivity asks how often you act on a problem rather than waiting for direction. Execution Discipline asks how consistently you follow through on the commitments that actually matter. Five more dimensions sit behind those two, and the scores band into emerging, developing and leading.

  5. The session closes on something public. In longer formats that is the TikTok Challenge — thirty minutes, one video per team, every person on camera answering what they will do differently on Monday — or a mock CNA interview in which a team is questioned about a breakthrough year they have not had yet. Both do the same job: a vague commitment cannot survive being said on camera to colleagues.

03 What changes afterwards

What a founder mindset programme is really building is an ownership culture — one where ownership and accountability are how the room behaves rather than something a manager has to enforce.

The gap this closes is rarely capability. It is people waiting for the right title before they lead, staying inside their lane when the outcome sits outside it, taking feedback personally instead of as data, and choosing comfort over the uncomfortable thing that would move the work.

What changes is small and specific by design. One problem taken on without waiting for permission. One priority named for the week and protected when everything else feels urgent. One extra question in every meeting about whether the decision serves the whole business or just one function. Teams that have run this describe the shift as accountability stopping being something enforced and starting to be the way the room behaves.

04 Proof

"You truly delivered on the mission, helping everyone understand their individual accountability and shifting the mindset toward action rather than passivity. I appreciated how well you understand both the local culture and our specific corporate culture — it made the discussions incredibly relevant and impactful for the team."

05 Questions

What happens in a founder mindset workshop?

A reset in how leaders think, decide and act. The session reframes leadership identity — from managing activity to owning outcomes — built on three pillars: Extreme Ownership, Will to Win, and Enterprise Mind. Every participant completes the Founder Mindset Self-Evaluation, a seven-dimension diagnostic, and leaves with clear personal focus areas. No theory dumps. Fun, engaging, practical, meaningful.

How long does it take, and how many people can attend?

Ninety minutes, half a day or a full day, for groups of five to 150. The ninety-minute format runs as a webinar and covers the framework and the self-evaluation. Half and full-day formats add the group exercises and the closing challenge, which is where most of the behaviour change is negotiated. The length follows the outcome you need, not a standard package.

Is a founder mindset only relevant to founders?

No. A founder mindset is an identity, not a title — it is how you operate, not who you report to. The session is built for people inside organisations they do not own, working within constraints they did not set. Nothing in it requires equity, seniority or permission, which is precisely the point being made.

Do you work with teams that have done this before?

Yes, and repeat groups are common. One luxury distribution client ran a leadership lab in January 2026, a half-day workshop in June and a webinar in July, with the same population. Returning participants open the session by sharing where a founder mindset has actually changed something since last time, which gives newer people evidence from their own colleagues rather than from us.

Every engagement starts with a conversation. No pitches. No proposals. Just a direct dialogue about what you want to design.
